Mike Smith: On another Winter Chiller morning who's bark was bigger than its bite, 47 intrepid runners lit out from 310 Marlboro Street in Keene on the second winter chiller of the 5 race winter series.  With the field almost doubled from two weeks ago, the racing was going to take it up a notch.  Once again Reuben Lyons would take top honors, finishing first overall, stopping the clock at 21 minutes, 49 seconds.  First woman in the field was Megan Davis in tenth overall running 24:58.  The third Chiller in the series runs in Temple from the Fellowship Hall right next to the Town Hall in the Center of town.  The cost is $5 per race, with registration beginning at 8am and the race start at 9am.  This course will be 4 miles over the hilly scenic back roads of Temple.

Sean Radcliffe: Thank you to Shaun McMahon for arranging the location and planning the route. Thanks to Lance and Yolanda Flamino for timing and record keeping. Thank you for all the donations to food bank.

Hancock Chiller #1, 2024

On Saturday 1/13/2024, the morning weather was… miserable. It was raining with periods of heavy rain on top of a half inch of snow-slush. But 24 runners came to Hancock to have fun running in the rain. Everyone got soaked and had a great time. Reuben Lyons won the race and Erin O’Shea was first female finisher.
Thanks to everyone help with the race, bringing baked goods and beverages. Thanks to Hancock Library for allowing use of the First Congregational Church. Thanks to all who brought dry goods for the Food Bank.

Temple Chiller #1, 2023

It was a classic, brilliantly sunny winter day with temperatures hovering just around freezing. Twenty six runners came to Temple to take on 4 miles including the Cutter road hill. Thankfully there the traction was good as it hadn’t rained or snowed significantly for several days although some of the dirt roads had some deep tire ruts. Oliver Ellerkamp came in first with a time of 24:57. First female was Cali Salo with a time of 34:10. Special note to Shayni Cutter for pushing a double stroller with two children up Cutter road hill and over the entire 4 mile course. Wow.

Thanks to Temple Congregational Church for the use of Friendship Hall. Thanks to everyone who donated items for the Temple Food Bank.
