The final MAGP race for 2018, race #14, was tough. The 10 mile race meandered through Keene, starting from the American Legion on Court Street, and travelling Surry Road towards the Surry dam and then back into town, through Wheelock park, returning back to American Legion. It is a beautiful course but the weather was not beautiful. The rain was light and constant with temperatures holding at 37 degrees. Seventy one (71) hardy and determined runners battled the weather and succeeded. Chesterfield’s Greg Hammett proved he hasn’t slowed down at 41 yo by winning the race (with sub 6 minute pace!). Karen Jordan of Keene won women’s title running the 10 miles in 1:11:46. Peterborough’s own Eric Shannon came in third with 1:00:40. After the race runners warmed up in the American Legion hall to pizza and beer! Thanks to Scores Running Club, American Legion #4 in Keene for hosting the race. Also thanks to everyone who donated to Operation Gratitude! Congratulations to everyone who ran today in the challenging weather. Congratulations to everyone participating in the 2018 MAGP series.
