MRM Annual Member Meeting, 2025


This spring the Board of Directors took the time to sit down and do a full review of the MRM Club Bylaws. With this review, we found a few areas that we are suggesting be amended to fit the Club’s calendar of events and current functions. In addition to the more “knitty gritty” details of club function, we also found that there are a whole slew of Board Member positions available beyond the ending terms of the Co-Presidency and Secretary. 


Bylaw Amendments require a quorum (13 members), ⅔ majority vote, and members must be notified at least 7 days ahead of time regarding the matters at hand.

Proposed Amendments to Bylaws Explained - Each of these will be voted on individually.


  1. “Rolling”

    1. Membership currently operates on a rolling basis for renewal - welcoming members to join at any time during the year. In the original Bylaws, all memberships expired on December 31st. 

  2. “The applicant must be (18) eighteen years old on the date of application for membership, or if they are less than (18) eighteen must have at least (1) one legal parent or guardian sign off on their membership application.”

    1. The Club used to utilize “single” and “family” membership statuses. Club membership is now only for individuals and requires the proposed adjustments allowing those under 18 years of age to join with parent/guardian consent. 

  3. “Membership will be structured in a tiered format with increasing benefits to each tier, to be determined by the Board on an annual basis. Refer to “Finance - A” for further details on membership dues. Tiers will be as follows:

    1. Basic Membership

    2. Supporting Membership

    3. Sponsoring Membership”

      1. The Club now utilizes a tiered membership and the board felt it important to provide some outline of this within the bylaws. 

  4. “Co-Presidents” and related to the Vice President position “This position is void if the Presidency is a shared (2) person Co-Presidency title.”

    1. Co-Presidency has been utilized and with its use the Vice President position becomes null for that term. The VP position opens when the next term comes open alongside the Presidency position. 

  5. “Term of office shall begin September 1st, after the close of the annual meeting, held between May and August.”

    1. The most recent change in Club leadership took place in the month of November leaving very little time to organize the MRM’s biggest event, the Winter Chillers Series and coinciding with the heaviest time of membership enrollment/renewal. The Board is recommending that the date of transition of positions be shifted to September 1st and that the annual meeting be held between May and August (previously ‘after January 1st’) to allow for a smoother transition of hands and allowing time for the new Board of Directors to make and implement changes as they see fit. 

  6. Treasurer Term & Addition of Treasurer Elect position 

    1. “Treasurer - Officer of the club, and Member of the Board of Directors, (2) two years, in addition to (1) one year position as Treasurer Elect.”

    2. “Treasurer Elect - Officer of the club, and Member of the Board of Directors. 

To overlap by at least (1) one year with the transition out of office of the Acting Treasurer, in order to ensure a smooth financial transition for the club.”

  1. The Board is recommending an increase from a 1 year term to a 2 year term as Treasurer AND the creation of a “Treasurer Elect” position with a 1 year term due to the need for overlap in order to train and smoothly hand off finances for the club. There is a  “learning curve” for this position that impacts the legal/tax status of the club. 


The President/Co-Preseident and Vice President Positions will open with the end of the term for both Becka and Smith. The Secretary position will open with the end of the term for Tena. Additional positions are listed that are not currently filled.

  1. President (or Co-Presidents) - 2 Year Term

  2. Vice President - 2 Year Term

  3. Secretary - 1 Year Term

  4. Volunteer Coordinator(s) - 1 Year Term

  5. Competition Director - 1 Year Term

  6. Social Director - 1 Year Term

We will send out an email to all Club Members ahead of time so they know who is looking to fill which positions.
