The Vertical challenge on Crotched Mountain

A three-hour endurance event to benefit Live Free and Ski a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides downhill skiing experiences for area youth who otherwise could not afford ski passes and rentals November 9, 2019 – 8 am to 11 am Crotched Mountain Ski Area, Bennington, NH Day of registration 7 am to 7:45 for those doing all three hours. Online registration: UltraSignup (ultrasignup.com) Day of registration stays open until 10 am! $15 individual entries, $25 per team – All proceeds go to Live Free and Ski Visit http://www.livefreeandski.org/

The Vertical challenge:

  • Run or Hike to the top of Crotched Mountain, a 1000 vertical foot climb over one mile, and earn 1000 vertical points.

  • Continue bagging the peak for up to three hours! Or, start anytime up to 10 am and help a great cause

  • Compete as an individual or as a team up to 4 participants

  • Hammer gel, electrolyte drinks, water, and more at the summit and base

  • Scorers mark your bib at the summit after each ascent. Plus, earn bonus vertical points!

  • Scores totaled at the end. Awards and prizes for all!

  • All courtesy of Crotched Mountain Ski area, Rt. 47, Bennington, NH. Lodge opens for early registration and bathroom facilities, plus post-race awards.

Visit Events, at https://www.crotchedmtn.com/ The Course: A mile ascent up Lower Pluto's Plunge, Galaxy, and Moon Walk to the summit, 1000 vertical feet. One up-down circuit is 2 miles. The course is on grass slopes and dirt paths. Vertical gain is marked at 250, 500, and 750 segments Summit turn around and descend the same route. Water stops are at the base and summit turn around. Scorers are at both locations. At the end of three hours, an air horn blast tells you to stop, then check your location and estimate remaining vertical feet.
