Hunting season: Be careful and dress appropriately

Hunting season. Be careful when you are running or hiking in trails that allow or are near land that allows hunting. NH Fish & Game hunting season details are in the link below. Depending on where you live, you are likely in WMU: K, H2N or H2S. Regardless, don’t wear white. Wear something bright neon orange, yellow, or pink.

Lindsey cleans up (“plogging”) while running

Lindsey Masterson

Local Monadnock runner Lindsey Masterson made news with her“plogging” efforts to clean up the roads while getting some exercise. See the link below from the Monadnock Ledger. I have heard other running clubs having road-cleanup activities and this it might be a good idea for MRM runners to consider. We MRM runners are a community minded bunch. We see the trash on the roads we run on. What do you think?

Doing the Run for the Honey after double lung transplant

If you have been following any of the MAGP races, you will recognize the name Juniper Christgau. She is one of the 6 runners that have a perfect record of competing in every MAGP race to date (10 races).  In the past year, Juniper's father had a double lung transplant and decided to participate in the Run for the Honey with his daughter.  It is hard to imagine exercising after having a double lung transplant. Yet Kevin Quigley (Juniper's father) managed to cover the hilly terrain.  The Monadnock Ledger noticed and wrote a nice article about his story: https://www.ledgertranscript.com/Hancock-man-with-lung-transplant-runs-Run-For-the-Honey-19106138   Way to go, Kevin!
